Super League: Round 6 - Salford City Reds v Wigan Warriors

Salford City Reds v Wigan Warriors (Scr/+6pts)

The guys at Hills have dangled that half chomped carrot again haven't they (+6pts)?

I know that Salford havent made the best of starts but if you take their home form into consideration all is not that so. In 2006, they managed to stay within the handicaps on all 6 occasions, when they received a start at the Willows. See below....

Salford City Reds 18 v 0 Wigan Warriors (-6/8pts)

Salford City Reds 18 v 24 Leeds Rhinos (-8/10pts)

Salford City Reds 10 v 12 St Helens (-10pts)

Salford City Reds 18 v 19 Leeds Rhinos (-8/10pts)

Salford City Reds 17 v 16 Bradford Bulls (-8pts)

Salford City Reds 20 v 24 Hull FC (-6pts)

Salford may not reach the heights of 2006, but, at the first time of asking this season they stayed within a handicap at home....

Salford City Reds 26 v 30 Leeds Rhinos (-6/8pts)

Away from home Salford are a different proposition for all the wrong reasons, as we seen last week against the rampant Bradford Bulls. But they make the Willows a very difficult place to get a result. Although Wigan have the world class Trent Barrett in their ranks, I doubt he has played at a ground such as this.

Close one to call, but you would be a brave men to fancy the under par Warriors to cover.

Salford (from): Hodgson, McGuinness, Moule, Wilshere, Dorn, Robinson, Coley, Alker, Korkidas, Edmondson, Finnigan, Highton, Viane, Brocklehurst, Haggerty, Adamson, Littler, Turner, Jewitt, Williams.

Wigan (from): Ashton, Calderwood, Bailey, Withers, Richards, Barrett, Leuluai, Fielden, Higham, Paleaaesina, Hock, Fletcher, O'Loughlin, Vaealiki, Millard, Prescott, Hansen, Goulding, Hill, O'Carroll.

Recommendations: Salford +6pts @ 1.90 (1pt) *saver on handicap tie

Prediction - Salford 24 v 20 Wigan

(Scale 1-5)
